On Saturday night, Selena Gomez was a guest at the Latinas in Hollywood event hosted by Netflix and ELLE at Tudum Theater in Los Angeles. Gomez wore another all-black ensemble, with a luxurious oversized black trench coat featuring a large furry collar. On her feet were a pair of black pointed boots, and the star wore her hair down in her freshly chopped black bob.
The big night included a toast to the cast of Emilia Pérez from Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia, highlighting ELLE’s Women in Hollywood cover stars: Gomez, Karla Sofía Gascón, and Zoe Saldaña. Along with Adriana Paz, the trio star in the new film from French director Jacques Audiard about a woman named Emilia, who transitioned into living as a woman after establishing herself as a powerful cartel leader. Gomez plays her former wife.
In an interview with ELLE, Gomez shared that the group quickly bonded on set while filming.
“The sisterhood ended up becoming what got us through,” Gomez said. “It’s still getting me through. I’m so glad that I’m not doing a bunch of scary things on my own.”
Discussing her career highlights, Gomez admitted that the film has been a major step for her and it also made her realize how much she’s accomplished since her early days with Disney.
“Being in this moment with these women [talking] about a movie that’s so important and moving and beautiful, it’s been a wow moment for me,” Gomez explained. I definitely didn’t expect all of what’s happening. It just feels like a time in my life that I’m extremely grateful for. Honestly, every day I wake up thinking, ‘How did I get to do this?’”
