Meghan Markle’s “beautiful” baby shower that Serena Williams hosted for her in New York City will not be her only. At the time of the shower, reports came out that Meghan would have a smaller celebration back in the United Kingdom. Now, Us Weekly has a little more detail about who the host of that bash will be: her sister-in-law Kate Middleton.
“There is still going to be some sort of private baby-centric event for Meghan’s UK people, and Kate will host,” a royal insider told the outlet. “Her glam people and other relatives will be there. Not sure if it’s a total baby ‘shower,’ but you could probably call it that.”
Reports of Kate hosting a shower for Meghan further put feud rumors between the two to rest. As a royal source told ELLE.com previously, “The stories of the two duchesses having a major ongoing feud are just overblown. They have enormous respect for each other and are both devoted to representing Her Majesty in the humanitarian and charitable work they do.”
Meghan’s UK baby shower was said to be happening after the three-day royal tour of Morocco that Meghan and Harry just finished Monday. Kate and William had their own royal tour in Northern Ireland yesterday and today. The shower could happen as soon as they return or it could happen closer to Meghan’s late April, early May due date.
Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland is expected to be at the UK gathering as well. Kate was not at Meghan’s New York City shower, in part because her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte were off of school then, on their half term. The family spent that week in Anmer Hall. Daily Mail reports that one day, Kate took Charlotte and George to a luxury hotel in Norfolk where they went swimming in the pool.
“Kate was organizing little races for them, and they did it around four or five times,” a witness told the outlet. “She said ‘ready, steady go’ and did a downward chopping action in the water to indicate the start of the race.”
