I Tried This Peptide Face Cream for 12 Weeks, And I Can’t Stop Recommending It
Posted on November 24, 2024
Want to know if a product really works? Welcome to Slow Beauty. Since it can take up to six weeks to see results from using a new formula, we have testers try the best and buzziest in hair and skin care for double that amount of time to determine what actually makes a difference.
Being in my late 30s has taught me a lot about what I can and can’t do anymore. For example, going out at night without taking a nap first? Impossible. Thinking I don’t need to invest in an under eye cream? Those days are behind me. Not having a solid skin care routine? Recipe for disaster. So when I got the opportunity to try out Medik8’s Total Moisture Daily Facial Cream, I was all in. Although it’s packed with hydrating and plumping hyaluronic acid, the moisturizer is also supposed to feel lightweight and non-greasy. Plus the sensitive skin-friendly cream contains prebiotic peptides to support the microbiome of your skin.
I have combination skin; if my skin isn’t properly moisturized, I’ll have dry patches around my chin and mouth, while my forehead, nose, and cheeks go into overdrive to produce more oil to compensate. Too much moisture, and my skin is struggling, leaving my face shining like my favorite metallic sandals. My hope was that the Medik8 cream could be my Goldilocks solution. I was also looking to restore some elasticity, smooth texture, and even out my complexion a bit. Here’s how my skin reacted to the product:

I have been wanting to improve the texture of my skin for quite some time now. I have tried various products that cleared my skin, but they didn’t leave it soft to the touch. After using this new product for just a week, I noticed an immediate improvement in how smooth my skin looked. What surprised me even more was how soft it felt. I kid you not, my face hasn’t been this soft since my early 20s.
I was looking in the mirror one night, and my skin was skinning. It’s one thing to notice how clear your face looks during the day, but to catch it at night? It was glowing, and I feel like I might finally be able to go makeup-free in the future.
I’ve noticed that my skin appears to be getting plumper and has a more even tone. It’s kind of surprising how quickly it’s working.
I’ve been using this moisturizer for a month now, and I’m really impressed. From the clarity of my skin tone to the texture, it’s doing what needs to be done. Of course, I’m still using other products alongside it (shout out to my Solawave), but this new addition is absolutely amazing and makes a significant difference. I’m also giving the packaging major props. One morning, while in a rush, I accidentally knocked it off my bathroom sink, but I was relieved to see that the outer glass container survived the fall. Although the plastic insert flew out, I was able to salvage a good amount of the product.

The condition of my skin is improving consistently, and it feels smoother than ever. However, I have recently noticed some red blotches on my cheeks above the jawline. This is something I have not seen before, and I am hoping that the moisturizer can help eliminate it or, at the very least, tone it down. I will keep an eye on it and see how it progresses.
The other day, someone asked if I was wearing makeup when I wasn’t. That someone was my mom, but still. She said my skin looked so smooth—almost airbrushed. I was really happy to hear that, because it’s been a while since I’ve received a compliment like that.
My skin is doing well, and still clear. Not too much to report this week.
My skin has adapted well to this product in the last two months. It’s still smoother than ever, and my complexion is improving every day. I haven’t noticed any other major changes, but the moisturizer complements my skin.

I started incorporating collagen and a new exfoliator into my minimalist—but growing—skin care routine. I’m doing my best to reduce the appearance of my smile lines, and I’ve noticed a little more plumpness to my skin. I’m still using the moisturizer; it isn’t greasy, and my skin absorbs it without feeling like I just put on a tub of petroleum jelly.
As someone who has battled acne for years, it’s a dream come true to rarely experience large, irksome, painful pimples (except for when I’m on my period). Having little to no breakouts is something I don’t take for granted. I remember how much I struggled when I was in high school. I begged my mom to take me to the dermatologist, and at 16, I was introduced to Retin-A. It changed the game for me, so I still use a retinol, and this moisturizer is a great one for layering on top and keeping my skin happy.
I’ve been monitoring the blotchiness I noticed a couple of weeks ago, and it’s improved. My pores are also less noticeable. How is this even possible? Oh, that’s right—I’m sticking to the script and this routine. I’d say my skin has adjusted fully to this product. I’m so glad I discovered it; I love the light texture and feel.
Guess which couple made it to their three-month anniversary? Medik8’s Total Moisture Daily Facial Cream and me. We’ve had such a great time together. This cream has improved the texture of my face and neck, reduced the number of breakouts I experience, and helped with the appearance of my pores. I’ve gotten a few compliments too, and I just recommended it to a friend, because I don’t gatekeep. I want everyone to win.

Final Thoughts
All in all, a little bit goes a long way with this moisturizer. And honestly, as someone who has seen her fair share of dermatologists and tried quite a few prescription formulas, I’m impressed by how far over-the-counter products like this one have come. My skin is sensitive and acne-prone, but if you build a solid routine, add in a great moisturizer, and rub in that sunscreen, your skin’s texture and appearance will improve over time. I know SkinTok has all the recommendations, but I highly suggest giving Medik8’s Facial Cream a try. Tell ’em that I sent you.
